Hold on to your cowboy hats! This is savoury, sweet and spicy all thrown together. Popcorn Test Score: 10!!
1/3 cup (80 ml) of oil (either vegetable or avocado oil)
3/4 cup (175 ml) uncooked popcorn kernels
1 Tbsp (15 ml) Lonestar’s Leap blend
1 Tbsp (15 ml) icing sugar
1 Tbsp (15 ml) grated cheddar or parmesan
1 tsp salt (2.5 ml)
Grated cheddar cheese for garnish
- On the stovetop, using a 4-quart pot (with a lid) heat the oil to a medium-high heat.
- Mix together the blend, sugar, cheese and salt (if you are a spice monster, double the mix!)
- Add popcorn and cover with the lid. Once the popping starts to slow down, remove the pot from the heat. Leave covered, wait for 2-3 minutes to allow the final pops, then empty into a large bowl.
- Sprinkle the popped corn with spices and toss the popcorn. Garnish with a bit of grated cheddar. Double the topping mixture if you are a spice monster.
